Trent and Dove joins the Matrix Housing Partnership
Trent and Dove Housing association has joined the Matrix Housing Partnership with the aim of building 500 new homes over the next 5 years.
Matrix is a partnership between Accord, Ashram, Caldmore, Rooftop and Trident housing associations which together provide more than 17,000 homes across the Midlands. Trent and Dove manages 5,300 homes in the East Midlands, taking the Matrix portfolio to 23,000 units.
Burton-upon-Trent based Trent and Dove plans to develop up to 100 homes a year through Matrix and share knowledge and Best Practice in the partnership’s areas of expertise including low carbon homes and technology, Diversity, Resident Involvement and Jobs & Social Enterprise.
Trent and Dove Chair John Jackson said: “As a community-based organisation Matrix is ideal in giving us access to support, expertise and regional and national influence, while preserving our total independence locally.
“The Matrix Partnership is also doing fantastic joint work in areas such as the sustainability agenda, Resident Involvement and community empowerment and we are thrilled to be able to contribute to that.”
Paul Spooner, regional Director of the Home and Communities Agency, attended the formal partnership agreement meeting today to discuss further ways of working in partnership to secure sustainable housing growth for Burton and East Staffordshire.
He said: “Matrix has a fantastic track record and reputation for delivering on the ground, as well as helping to shape ‘place’ and service delivery locally, regionally and nationally. I am delighted that it is continuing to grow and that Trent and Dove are joining.”
Dr Chris Handy, Chair of the Matrix Strategy Group, said: “Matrix is a model which works and our track record in delivering hundreds of high-quality new homes in recent years speaks for itself.
“But it is also a forum where ideas and innovation thrive and we are delighted to welcome Trent and Dove; the team there bring their own expertise and have so much to offer those within the partnership.”
